Our wedding gown service is designed to protect delicate materials and preserve your dress with the care and respect it deserves.
Each gown is carefully reviewed to understand its fabric, construction, and overall condition before care begins.
Step 1We use gentle, fabric-appropriate cleaning methods selected to remove visible soil and staining while protecting delicate details.
Step 2The gown is carefully finished to restore its shape and presentation while maintaining the integrity of the original design.
Step 3For brides who choose long-term care, preservation solutions are available to help protect the gown during storage.
Step 4Brides across Dallas, Highland Park, University Park, Preston Hollow and the wider Park Cities have brought their gowns to Avon Cleaners since 1968. You can leave a dress at either store, Lovers Lane, open 7:00 am to 6:00 pm on weekdays, or Hillcrest Avenue, which also has a self-service kiosk open around the clock. Or let us come and get it: pickup and delivery is complimentary across the Metroplex, which matters more than it sounds, because a gown that travels badly can arrive with damage that was not there when it left.
Cleaning removes what the day left in the fabric: champagne, frosting, body oils, the things that are invisible now and yellow later. Preservation is the separate step that protects an already clean gown in storage, using acid-free materials so the dress is not fighting its own packaging for as long as it is put away. You can have the first without the second. Brides who plan to keep the dress usually choose both.
Sooner is better. Residues begin oxidizing within days of the wedding, so the window in which a stain lifts cleanly is measured in weeks rather than months. If your dress has already been in a closet for a year, bring it anyway. We would rather look at it than guess. There is more on the timing in our guide to when to have your wedding dress cleaned in Dallas.
Yes. Preservation is offered as an option after cleaning and uses acid-free materials for long-term storage. It is a separate choice rather than an automatic addition to every order.
We would not recommend it. Invisible residues keep oxidizing inside the packaging, so sealing an uncleaned gown locks the problem in rather than holding it still. Clean first, then preserve.
At either Avon Cleaners store: Lovers Lane at 4347 Lovers Ln, or Hillcrest Avenue at 6301 Hillcrest Ave, both in Dallas. The Hillcrest kiosk is open 24 hours if neither set of counter hours suits you, and complimentary pickup and delivery covers Dallas, the Park Cities and the wider Metroplex.
Longer than everyday dry cleaning, because each gown is evaluated, cleaned and finished on its own rather than run through a standard process. Call the store with your date and we will tell you what is realistic for your dress.
The method is chosen for what is in front of us. Beading, lace panels, silk and tulle are each handled on their own terms, and the gown is inspected again at the finishing stage before it goes back to you.
Erin GerwickTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Amazing service!!! I had a very rushed order that they were able to complete so quickly. Thanks so much Avon!! Alex MTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I’ve been a customer for years and have always had an excellent experience. Until recently. A few items from a past order had a musty smell when I picked them up; like the cleaning solution was dirty. I never complain but I did call and ask for my items to be recleaned at no charge. Instead of an apology and courteous offer to redo my two garments. I was questioned why I didn’t bring them back sooner and why I didn’t report this right away etc. No apology, no courtesy. Poor customer service from the woman who works at the Lovers Lane location. They typically do a beautiful job with my clothing but this is enough to make me go elsewhere. Disappointing.
